Level 1 trauma1/25/2024 ![]() Yearly around 80,000 incidents are registered, of which approximately 5 % is considered as major trauma. The Dutch National Trauma Registry (DNTR) is nationally coordinated through 11 trauma regions. The present study aimed to assess the effects of different AIS revisions (and derived ISS) on clinical outcome measures and the volume of primary admitted MT patients to a designated regional level I trauma center. The definition of MT becomes particularly relevant if a newer AIS revision is being implemented in a trauma registry, or if the time span of a study overlaps different AIS revisions. Since AIS revisions can affect assessments of injury severity, it is of vital importance that the derived ISS is used to classify MT, particularly as other measures such as quality indicators rely heavily on such a classification. The effects of a subsequent AIS revision in 2015 (AIS15) on a trauma registry has not been evaluated in any published work. This affects measurements of the performance of trauma care over time, or across registries using different AIS revisions. In addition, an increase in mortality rate, length of stay (LOS), need for intensive care (ICU) and urgent surgery has been reported in (re-classified) MT populations due to this shift. As a result, the distribution of the ISS has down-shifted causing a 20% decrease in MT patients. In AIS08, many injuries were re-assigned to higher or lower severity levels, although in practice more injuries decreased in severity. In particular, changing from the widely used 1998 AIS update (AIS98) to the 2008 update (AIS08) profoundly affects descriptions of injury severity and outcome predictions. In turn, this can compromise assessments of quality of care, or of the level of performance of trauma systems. However, differences in the classification of injury severity between AIS revisions can affect assessments of injury severity, both in individual patients and across populations. Not all trauma registries use the same AIS revision at any given time worldwide, registries implement newer AIS revisions whenever considered necessary at a local level. ![]() ĪIS code sets are periodically revised to better reflect contemporary performance of trauma systems. Also, the ISS has substantial limitations, including in the prediction of outcome after serious injury. However, in recent years focus on outcome measures in trauma care has shifted from fatal to nonfatal outcomes. This threshold was adopted following evaluation of mortality rates in the North American Major Trauma Outcome Study in the 1980s. The ISS is commonly used to define major trauma (MT) using an ISS ≥ 16. Although based on expert opinion, the ISS has persevered for over 40 years as the ‘gold standard’ of injury scoring. AIS coding, and AIS-derived scores such as the Injury Severity Score (ISS) are used to identify and classify injured patients within trauma systems, and can also be used as a component of risk adjustment and benchmarking using mortality prediction models. The Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) provides an anatomically-based, mortality-weighted code set used to classify injury severity. Prognostic and epidemiological, level III. Defining MT using appropriate ISS thresholds is important for quality indicators, comparing datasets and adjusting for injury severity. This confirms studies evaluating mapped datasets, and is the first to present an evaluation of implementation of AIS15 on registry datasets. ISS08 ≥ 11 and ISS15 ≥ 12 perform similarly to a threshold ISS98 ≥ 16 for in-hospital mortality and ICU admission. Mortality risks did not differ significantly between AIS08 and AIS15. Thirty-nine thousand three hundred seventeen patients were included. Different ISS thresholds for MT and their corresponding observed mortality and intensive care (ICU) admission rates were compared between AIS98, AIS08, and AIS15 with Chi-square tests and logistic regression models. MethodsĪ retrospective observational cohort study including all primary admitted trauma patients was performed (in 2013–2014 AIS98 was used, in 2015–2016 AIS08, AIS08 mapped to AIS15). ![]() The aim of this study was to determine effects of different AIS revisions (1998, 20) on clinical outcome measures. A threshold Injury Severity Score (ISS) ≥ 16 is common in classifying major trauma (MT), although the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) has been extensively revised over time.

Halloween update phasmophobia1/25/2024 ![]() Silent Hill seriesĪ classic brought to us by Keiichiro Toyama, Silent Hill (and its many sequels), will go down in history as some of the best horror games ever. Definitely a tad darker than the original 2005 title, it's well worth picking up if you're a fan of Resi. While not explicitly on this list, Resident Evil 4 Remake is also a good shout for some more action-fuelled horror fun. That said, Resident Evil Village is still scary, but its Shadows of Rose DLC really amps up the horror. And it sets you up perfectly for Resident Evil Village – if you want to graduate from horror to action in one quick step. It’s a chilling experience from start to finish, especially with Jack and his family on your tail. With Resident Evil 7, Capcom basically said, ‘You want horror? Here’s horror.’ and sent Ethan, a new character, on an adventure that feels eerily like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets The Shining. ![]() Having moved away from the less-than-impressive Resident Evil 5 and 6, Biohazard feels fresh, and is absolutely terrifying. I can’t begin to describe the relief I felt when I made my way through Biohazard for the first time. The third contender that I must make mention to is Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Resident Evil is one of the founding fathers of horror games. The original Resident Evil game, and its successor, are arguably some of the founding fathers of the survival horror genre as we know it today. I can’t choose a single Resident Evil game for this list, so I’m going to make mention of a few for different reasons.īoth Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 are horror heroes to this day, and the remakes of each certainly helped immortalise and amplify the outstanding architecture and endless gore they possess, while still remaining faithful to the original games. Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch. ![]() With that in mind, here’s our list of some of the best horror games of all time (in no particular order) that you can still play today, ranging from recent award winners to some more off the radar titles. I also think monsters and aliens are kinda cool – and that's why horror games, in particular, rule: they can combine all of the above in an interactive, entertaining way. I’ve also realised that I don’t particularly like being scared, but I do really admire how horror games can make you feel so much at once when they’re done right. Resident Evil is one of the first games I remember, and the countless late nights I had binging horror movies with my dad have granted me an affectionate affinity towards horror as a genre. Manage cookie settings Not the scariest of Resident Evil games, but still a horrifying time, Resident Evil 4 is currently being remade. The game's recent crossplay update ensures that PC players will be able to keep up with next-gen gamers as they enjoy the game's major visual upgrades. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Dead by Daylight has also seen a lot of success recently the asymmetrical game pits a group of survivors against a single player-controlled monster, who can choose from a wide array of original spooks or a few familiar faces from classic horror properties like Stranger Things and Silent Hill. Phasmophobia has seen remarkable success the immersive co-op ghost hunt has become a hit online thanks to its clever use of voice recognition software and the eerie, suspenseful atmosphere it manages to nail just right. It's been a good year for horror games on PC. Remarkable discounts can crop up even outside of seasonal sales, though earlier this month, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 became free to download thanks to SEGA's 60th anniversary. Steam is well known for its seasonal sales, offering massive discounts on prominent and beloved video games. Steam has launched its Halloween sale, offering discounts on beloved horror games like Phasmophobia and Dead By Daylight.

Ogp smartscope flash 302 manual1/25/2024 ![]() Gantry coordinate measuring machines provide significant advantages over conventional bridges: The measuring range of gantry CMMs can vary from 1 x 2 x 1m XYZ to 4 x 10 x 3m XYZ, and even larger, specially built units can be purchased. The Z axis, located on the X-axis carriage, can be as long as 4 meters, but normally they are between 1.2 to 2.0 meters in depth. Larger gantry machines have six or eight columns, or more, depending on the length of the Y axis. The X-axis carriage runs along the two supported beams of the Y axis. Smaller gantry machines have four upright columns supporting large Y-axis beams, usually 1.5 to 2 meters in height. This requirement is specified by the manufacturer and should not be ignored. Most gantry machines are mounted directly to the floor and therefore must have a substantial foundation. Gantry CMM machines are used predominantly for very large or heavy parts that require the high precision of a bridge machine. The accuracy of most bridge systems is usually better than other types of coordinate measuring machines, and certainly, when considering a system for machined parts with higher tolerances, a bridge is hard to beat. Heavy components have to be lifted onto the plate, necessitating a crane or a lift truck and potentially causing a collision with the machine. For instance, accessibility to the part being measured is sometimes quite difficult because of the uprights holding the X-axis beam. However, there are both pros and cons associated with their function. Bridge machines are the workhorses of CMMs. ![]() Machines are built in sizes ranging from 300×300×300 mm XYZ to 2000 mm x 5000 mm x1500mm, with some exceptions. 95% of all bridge machines run on air bearings to allow friction-free movement and minimize mechanical interaction. Generally, only one side of the bridge is driven the other side is the slave side and is allowed to float freely. Most bridge machines are based on a precision granite plate with two legs supporting the X-axis carriage. Bridge machines have a low cost to build and the ability to maintain accuracy and repeatability over the long term. This process is repeated as necessary, moving the probe each time, to produce a "point cloud" which describes the surface areas of interest.ĭue to their basic structure and simplicity of build, bridge machines have become extremely popular. When the probe contacts (or otherwise detects a particular location) on the object, the machine samples the three position sensors, thus measuring the location of one point on the object's surface. Each axis has a sensor that monitors the position of the probe on that axis, typically with micrometer precision. The typical 3D "bridge" CMM machine allows probe movement along three axes, X, Y and Z, which are orthogonal to each other in a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. Kipper the dog1/24/2024 ![]() He finds a small mouse inside Sock Thing who has taken bits of the toy box to create a nest. Kipper eventually discovers that Sock thing is crawling towards him in the middle of the night and is very confused as none of his toys have ever come to life. Soon, Kipper manages to get the right number of toys but then notices that his favourite toy ‘Sock Thing’ is missing and gets very upset. Kipper then empties all the toys from the toy box and begins to count them but has some trouble. Kipper one day notices a hole in the corner of his toy box and is instantly worried that some of his toys may be missing. This book tells the story of Kipper and his Toy box. There is nothing quite like having a kip after reading a bit of Kipper. The books are gentle to read and simple enough to follow. The Kipper series and ‘Kipper’s Toybox’ in particular, is an ideal bedtime story. It is useful if you are a collector as you can use the back page to see which Kipper books you have not managed to pick up yet. It comes on good quality paper and has a 25 year notice on the front. The 25th Year edition is not particularly different from any earlier version that you may buy. It does remind you of the Spot books with the simple use of Kipper in the middle of the page and white all around him Kipper is a great follow on book for lovers of Spot. Kipper is a simple design and this is a simple story, but told well. The words are not over dominate and allow the clean images to sparkle. Perhaps the best thing about Inkpen is his ability to balance the story and the images. Counting toys is great fun, as is spotting a sneaky tail or two that may have just snuck into the picture. You are encouraged to play along with Kipper as he tries to work out what is happening. Most pages have an illustration and three or four lines of text telling the story. The language is simple in nature, but complex enough that it requires some thought. ‘Kipper’s Toolbox’ is a perfect example of a follow on book for children just starting to actually read a story with you. Via a series of counting tasks he is able to work out that a couple of additional friends may have just come to visit. There appears to be a few too many creatures in the toybox and Kipper is unsure of what is going on. In this tale, Kipper and his stuffed toy pals have a mystery to solve. It takes someone like Mick Inkpen to strip down some of the unnecessary paraphernalia that can surround a book for sharing and create something as pleasurable as ‘Kipper's Toybox’. The Kipper series are the type of joyful storybooks that appear simple to write, but if that was true we would all be doing it. The new 25 year anniversary releases looks to cement this. ![]() The fact that Kipper is over 25 years old makes me feel my age this collection of books always felt a little ageless and classic. Digicel flipbook indir1/24/2024 ![]() This brings up another question about the 4D Fusio line: exactly how many pairs does adidas plan to produce? The sports apparel giant set a goal to use 3D printing in the production of 100,000 shoes in 2018. ![]() It also planned to introduce more recycled materials in the future. As of November 2019, it had continued to list the number 100,000 as the projection for the previous year, making it difficult to confirm how many the company ultimately manufactured with 3D printing. In 2019, the company also shut down its Speedfactory plants in Germany and the U.S. and relocated them to Asia, which our executive editor, Joris Peels, suggested may have been a sign for shoe 3D printing. The facilities were meant to deploy 3D printing and other automation technologies to improve the efficiency of footwear production. Though it may not have been able to localize production, as the Speedfactories were meant to, it’s possible that adidas has begun to lay the foundation for a new way of making shoes, with its Speedfactories in Asia rather than the U.S. The company has continued to steadily expand its designs and production technology. Since Futurecraft 4D shoes were first launched in 2017, adidas has partnered with the likes of Stella McCartney, Pharrell Williams and Lucas Films on shoe designs featuring 3D printed midsoles. Additionally, in October 2020, adidas showcased an automated weaving system capable of knitting the uppers for its shoes. In its report, “ 3D-Printed Footwear 2020-2030, an Analysis of the Market Potential of 3D Printing in the Footwear Industry”, SmarTech Analysis projects 3D printing in footwear to generate over US $4.2 billion in annual revenues in 2025. state of Florida officially reported its first two COVID-19 cases, in Manatee and Hillsborough counties. There is evidence, however, that community spread of COVID-19 began in Florida much earlier, perhaps as early as the first week of January, with as many as 171 people in Florida who had shown symptoms now identified with COVID-19, prior to receiving confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. On April 1, 2020, Governor DeSantis issued an executive order to restrict activities within the state to those deemed as essential services.īy March 11, the CDC saw evidence to conclude that community spread of the virus had occurred within the state. ![]() ![]() Industrial control systems cyber experts speculate that the hacker used stolen credentials.Īs Samantha F. The hacker breached the network through TeamViewer software, a commonly used program for remote system maintenance. At high levels, it would have poisoned the city’s drinking water. Sodium hydroxide is lye and the main ingredient in drain cleaner. Upon gaining access to the system, the hacker increased the amount of sodium hydroxide in the water to dangerous levels. This breach is a reminder that the country’s water infrastructure is poorly secured in cyberspace - and that vulnerabilities in this critical system pose real world consequences. The shared TeamViewer password was reported earlier by the Associated Press. An unknown hacker remotely accessed the chemical controls of a water treatment plant in the City of Oldsmar, near Tampa, Fla., earlier this month. Even if the change hadn’t been reversed, the officials said, treatment plant personnel have redundancies in place to catch dangerous conditions before water is delivered to homes and businesses. In larger doses, the chemical is a health hazard.Ĭhristopher Krebs, the former head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, reportedly told a House of Representatives Homeland Security committee on Wednesday that the breach was “very likely” the work of “a disgruntled employee.”Ĭity officials said residents were never in danger, because the change was quickly detected and reversed. Lye is used in small amounts to adjust drinking water alkalinity and remove metals and other contaminants. The person on the other end changed the amount of lye added to the water from about 100 parts per million to 11,100 ppm. The breach occurred around 1:30pm, when an employee watched the mouse on his city computer moving on its own as an unknown party remotely accessed an interface that controlled the water treatment process. The lack of a firewall and a password that was the same for each employee are also signs that the department’s security regimen wasn’t as tight as it could have been. Windows 7 also provides fewer security protections than Windows 10. In January, Microsoft ended support for Windows 7, a move that ended security updates for the operating system. The revelations illustrate the lack of security rigor found inside many critical infrastructure environments. The actor also likely used the desktop sharing software TeamViewer to gain unauthorized access to the system.įBIEmployees in Oldsmar’s water treatment department and city manager’s office didn’t immediately respond to phone messages seeking comment for this post. The cyber actors likely accessed the system by exploiting cyber security weaknesses including poor password security, and an outdated Windows 7 operating system to compromise software used Further, all computers shared the same password for remote access and appeared to be connected directly to the Internet without any type of firewall protection installed.Ī private industry notification published by the FBI provided a similar assessment. All computers used by water plant personnel were connected to the SCADA system and used the 32-bit version of the Windows 7 operating system. ![]() The unidentified actors accessed the water treatment plant’s SCADA controls via remote access software, TeamViewer, which was installed on one of several computers the water treatment plant personnel used to conduct system status checks and to respond to alarms or any other issues that arose during the water treatment process. What’s more, the computer had no firewall installed and used a password that was shared among employees for remotely logging into city systems with the TeamViewer application The tampering could have caused severe sickness or death had it not been for safeguards the city has in place.Īccording to an advisory from the state of Massachusetts, employees with the Oldsmar facility used a computer running Windows 7 to remotely access plant controls known as a SCADA-short for “supervisory control and data acquisition”-system. ![]() After gaining remote access to a computer that controlled equipment inside the Oldsmar water treatment plant, the unknown intruder increased the amount of sodium hydroxide-a caustic chemical better known as lye-by a factor of 100. The computer intrusion happened last Friday in Oldsmar, a Florida city of about 15,000 that’s roughly 15 miles northwest of Tampa. The Florida water treatment facility whose computer system experienced a potentially hazardous computer breach last week used an unsupported version of Windows with no firewall and shared the same TeamViewer password among its employees, government officials have reported.

Square Enix has revealed some measures to tackle Final Fantasy XIV Online's server issues. On the European servers, players had to wait for up to 40 minutes. The downtime will last for 4 hours, which means you can. Multiple servers exist because the population of the game as a whole is too large to fit into a single world. Some North American servers were at maximum capacity for up to seven hours at some points last weekend, and the average queue times were around 10-20 minutes. Final Fantasy XIV servers will go under maintenance on June 6 at 11 pm PT or June 7 at 2 am ET/6 am UTC/7 am BST/8 am CEST/4 pm AEST. Servers, also known as Worlds, are individual, concurrently running instances of Final Fantasy XIV's setting, Eorzea, on which players reside. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida wrote that many players in North America and Europe have had trouble logging in or creating characters recently because of "server congestion." However, the game's servers are struggling to handle the influx of players. A major expansion is scheduled to arrive in November, and players may be returning or picking the game up ahead of Endwalker's arrival. Final Fantasy XIV Online is seeing "record user numbers in all regions" after some popular streamers started playing the MMO. |
